What if I want to withdraw from the study?
It helps ASCEND to produce reliable results if as many participants as possible continue to take the study medication and complete the follow-up forms until the end of the study. However, if you are no longer able to, or no longer wish to, take the study medication, you can let us know on your follow-up form or by contacting the study co-ordinating centre. You are free to do this at any time and don’t have to give us a reason. If you are stopping, or have stopped, your study medication, it helps the study if you continue to complete the 6-monthly follow-up forms. If you have difficulty filling in these forms, or no longer wish them to be sent to you, please contact the co-ordinating centre. Please see “what happens to my data?” in this section to find out more about how the information about you is collected and handled in ASCEND.
